PRINT MESSAGES

Note: DO NOT click Delete Selected because this will permanently delete the messages

  • Click on the message box at the top of the page
    If there is more than one message:
    -Highlight the first message
    -Hold down the Shift key
    -Highlight the last message
    -Click Print Selected
    -Click Cancel to close the screen
  • Retrieve items from shelves
  • Scan barcodes in Check In Items (F3) tab
  • Follow directions on screen (if item is to be placed on your Hold/Request shelf,
    print message and attach message to item before placing on hold shelf)

IF ITEM CANNOT BE FOUND ON YOUR SHELVES

  • Type in barcode using Special Status check-in and choose Missing: Staff Action
  • A pop-up box will appear asking system selects item to fill request or user selects item to fill request
  • Choose system selects (hold will automatically be placed on the next available copy in the system)
  • If no other copy of this title is in the system, another pop-up box will inform you to contact the patron to let them know that the item is unavailable and there is no replacement available
  • Call the patron and give them the option to:
    -cancel the hold
    -choose another title
    -leave the hold and hope the item is eventually found
