PIN numbers

Note: A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is assigned to each patron who registers using OBR (Online Borrower Registration). That PIN is comprised of the patron’s EIGHT DIGIT birth date (two digits for the month, two for the day, four for the year). For example: a birth date of May 12, 1990 would generate this PIN: 05121990.

A PIN may be added to or changed in a patron’s record at any time

  1. To add a PIN or change a PIN
    1. Be in patron’s record
    2. Click View/Edit Address
    3. Click Basic Information
    4. In the PIN field, type in the patron’s choice (4 to 8 letters or characters or a combination)*

*If a patron requests their pin, you will not be able to tell them what it is. In their borrower record, it will only show you black dots representing the characters. You can, however, change the pin to whatever they choose, or revert it to their birth date. Once the patron is aware of their PIN, they may login to their account through the library website and change it to whatever they wish.
